Greenworks 40V Blower/Vacuum Review: 340 CFM, Tool Only

Research-based review · Updated October 11, 2026. We have not tested this product ourselves. Published specifications are identified below; buying recommendations are our assessment of those specifications and the intended job.

Our take: This older Greenworks 40V blower/vacuum is worth considering if you want to collect leaves as well as move them, especially if you already own a compatible battery. Check the package carefully: the linked 340-CFM offer is tool only, with no battery or charger.

Which Greenworks blower is this?

This review covers the 185-MPH, 340-CFM blower/vacuum family identified as 24312/24322 in the Greenworks operator manual. It does not cover the newer 505-CFM blower/vacuum or every Greenworks 40V blower. Similar marketplace titles make the model and selected package more useful than the headline alone.

Check What to know
Linked offer 340-CFM blower/vacuum, tool-only selection; battery and charger sold separately.
Published output 340 CFM and 185 MPH maximum, not independently measured clearing performance.
Vacuum setup Uses suction tubes and a collection bag; confirm that both are supplied.
Battery match Check the exact tool manual and battery model before ordering. A voltage label alone is not enough.

The older 24322 kit manual specifies the 29472 4Ah battery. The later 24312/24322 manual lists 29472 or BAF-series batteries and 29482 or CAF-series chargers. Use the documentation for the unit you receive; do not assume a different Greenworks voltage platform will fit.

Blowing and collecting are different jobs

Our buying assessment is that the vacuum function is the main reason to shortlist this model. Blowing gathers scattered leaves, but you still need somewhere for the pile to go. A collection bag can be useful when you want to carry the debris to a compost area or disposal container.

That convenience comes with extra handling: changing attachments, carrying a filling bag and stopping to empty it. If you only want to move leaves off a driveway, we would compare a dedicated blower before paying for collection equipment. If you have a large seasonal cleanup, think through the whole job rather than treating a vacuum mode as a substitute for a rake, tarp or other collection method.

Runtime and battery cost

The current retailer advertises 21 minutes, but its tool-only offer supplies no battery. We would not use that number as a promise for an existing pack or for continuous vacuuming. Battery capacity, condition and operating setting all affect the buying calculation.

Add a compatible battery and charger to the tool price if you need them. Then compare that complete total with a newer kit. A lower bare-tool price is only a saving when the rest of the required equipment is already available or reasonably priced.

Dry conditions and sensible limits

The Greenworks manual prohibits rain exposure and use on wet surfaces. It also calls for battery removal before clearing blockages, cleaning or changing attachments, and requires the appropriate tubes, gate and bag to be secured. Follow its eye and hearing protection instructions.

Retail wording about wet leaves does not override those instructions. We would not buy this as a snow-removal machine, and we found no basis for the old article’s snow-blower attachment recommendation. For vacuuming, check the area for stones, glass, wire and other unsuitable debris before starting.

Our recommendation

Consider this Greenworks if leaf collection is a regular need and the complete package makes financial sense. Pass if you mainly need a simple blower, cannot verify battery compatibility, or would have to spend heavily to assemble an older tool-only setup. Check replacement bag and tube availability through Greenworks’ parts finder before buying used.
