What the BV3600 actually does
BLACK+DECKER specifies a corded 12-amp motor, two speeds and a maximum air speed of 230 MPH. Its listed package contains the power unit, concentrator, blow tube, vacuum tube and collection bag. Allow for an appropriate outdoor extension cord in your buying decision.
Changing mode involves the correct attachments. It is not simply flipping a switch while the machine runs. The two-speed switch controls output; it does not replace the assembly steps in the manual.
How useful is the 10-to-1 mulching claim?
The manufacturer advertises a reduction of up to ten bags of leaves into one. Treat that as a claimed reduction under suitable conditions, rather than a fixed result for every leaf pile. We have not independently measured the reduction ratio or collection speed.
Our assessment: collection is the main reason to choose this machine over a simple blower. For a small area where you already rake leaves into a pile, it may offer little extra convenience. For regular dry-leaf cleanup where reducing the volume before disposal matters, it deserves a closer look.
Dry leaves, bag emptying and clogs
The BV3600 manufacturer manual limits vacuuming to suitable dry material and excludes water, wet objects, stones, gravel, metal and glass. Its anti-clog branding is not a promise that blockages cannot happen.
The manual also says suction falls as the bag fills. Switch off and unplug before emptying the bag, clearing a blockage or changing tubes; wait for the fan to stop before disassembly. Check the cord route before you buy
First identify where you can safely plug in, then consider the actual route around trees, steps and flower beds. A straight-line measurement across the lawn can underestimate the usable cord length. If most of your leaf cleanup lies beyond convenient reach, a cordless machine is likely the better purchase.
Use an outdoor-rated extension cord with the gauge and length specified for this tool, inspect it before use, and keep it clear of the work path. The manual excludes rain and wet surfaces. Continuous access to electricity removes battery charging stops, but it does not remove bag-emptying, maintenance or cord-handling stops.

Check the return policy and the current limited-warranty terms before choosing a seller. We would pass if your main job involves wet piles or a long, awkward cord route.
