26-INCH / TWO-STAGE / POWERED WHEELS
Toro Power Max e26 39926 Review: A 26-Inch Battery Two-Stage?
A larger, self-propelled 60V machine to compare for recurring substantial snow—provided its size, storage and delivered dealer package fit your property.
Research-based buying review. We have not hands-on tested this model. Manufacturer claims and our buying judgments are identified below.
Our buying verdict
Shortlist the e26 if a larger two-stage machine and powered wheels address your recurring snow-clearing workload. Its stronger case is architecture and route fit, not the highest voltage label. The 39926 kit and 39926T bare tool are different purchases; confirm the serial-specific batteries, chargers, assembly and delivered price with the dealer before comparing offers.
Published specifications, not our measured results. Model specification reference ↗.
Reasons to shortlist it
- Powered-wheel traction and separate auger/impeller stages suit a different workload from push single-stage machines.
- 26-inch clearing width is relevant for wider routes when the machine can be stored and maneuvered safely.
- Current serial-range documentation identifies two rapid chargers and the included battery models.
- Dealer support provides a route for setup, service and exact-package questions.
Tradeoffs to consider
- Large machine: listed weight and stored dimensions deserve attention before delivery.
- The third battery bay is optional capacity, not a third included battery.
- Car-space and throwing claims are conditional manufacturer estimates, not our tests.
- No exact current Amazon kit was verified; a dealer quote is the shopping route used here.
Why move from a single-stage blower to the e26?
The e26 is most useful to compare when your recurring job calls for a different machine architecture. A push single-stage blower and a self-propelled two-stage machine ask different things of the owner. With separate snow-handling stages and powered wheels, the e26 belongs on a shortlist for more substantial work, but it is not a promise that every dense bank or slope becomes easy.
Before choosing it, think about how you will turn at the end of the drive, reverse away from a garage, clear around parked vehicles and place the discharged snow. A broad route with room to maneuver can justify a larger machine. A short, constrained paved route may make a smaller design more practical. Use our snowblower type guide to separate those decisions from a brand preference.
Separate snow handling from moving the machine
The front auger feeds snow inward. This is only the first clearing stage.
A separate impeller sends snow through the discharge chute.
The drive assists travel. It is separate from stage count and does not eliminate operator effort.
The 26-inch opening and 20-inch intake need context
Toro publishes a 26-inch clearing width, a 20-inch intake and an up-to-45-foot throwing figure. Those are specifications and conditional marketing claims, not a Go Electric result. The intake height is not the same as a guarantee to clear a 20-inch wet drift at full width and full speed. A machine’s feed rate, snow density and discharge conditions still govern the work.
We would not turn the manufacturer’s car-space statement into an area guarantee for a different depth or a frozen plow mound. The e26’s worthwhile distinction is the two-stage layout and traction system. If the question is whether it materially changes your work compared with the 24-inch Toro e24, compare physical fit, complete kits and controls—not just the two extra inches of clearing width.
Two included batteries, three bays and a charger revision
The current operator manual for serial 418000000 and up identifies two 88675 7.5Ah packs and two 88605 rapid chargers in model 39926. Older e26 documentation identifies a different charger model, so use the manufacturer’s serial-range lookup for the unit being offered. That is why we do not assume every listing with the same short model name ships the same charging equipment.
There are three battery cavities, but only two packs are included in the reviewed kit. The optional third pack is a separate complete-cost question. Stay within Toro’s approved 60V system and follow the manual’s battery requirements; do not apply pack rules from an EGO or Greenworks machine. A third bay does not make this a 180V snow blower, and three physical bays do not automatically mean all are required to start.
Compare the exact offer
Toro’s manufacturer page directed buyers to a local dealer at the October 11, 2026 check. No exact current Amazon 39926 kit was verified. Confirm the serial range, included packs and charger models, assembly, delivery, taxes and return/warranty terms with the dealer.
Powered wheels and chute controls do not remove the fit check
The traction system and Quick Stick chute control are reasons to compare the machine’s operating layout. Ask a dealer to show the control reach, speed selection and how the machine turns at low speed before assuming it fits every user. Power assistance reduces one part of the job; balancing, maneuvering and choosing safe footing remain operator responsibilities.
The published model dimensions are useful for planning storage and access, but the stored handle/chute arrangement should be confirmed on the unit. Do not plan to carry a large two-stage machine up steps as though it were a compact snow thrower. Ask how delivery will reach the storage location, whether the assembled machine passes through the required opening and what clearance is needed for the charger setup.
Get a complete dealer quote—not a headline price
The reviewed 39926 includes batteries; the T model is bare tool.
Match the serial range, two 7.5Ah packs and the actual charger count/model. A third pack is not assumed.
Itemize assembly, delivery, tax and extras; compare where the machine will be serviced.
Surfaces, safe clearing and maintenance still matter
Toro’s current manual includes housing-height adjustment for gravel or crushed rock. That makes the setup discussion different from the explicit no-gravel wording in the Greenworks SN60L522 manual. It does not make thrown stones harmless or replace a dealer discussion about the actual surface. Have the skids and scraper configured according to the manual and account for hidden obstacles, bystanders and discharge direction.
For a blockage, shut down, remove the key and battery packs, wait for movement to stop and use the approved cleanout approach—never reach into the chute by hand. Continue to inspect the traction controls, cables, scraper, skids and fasteners as directed. Eliminating fuel service does not eliminate mechanical wear or seasonal checks. The linked warranty is limited coverage, not a forecast of how long the machine will last.
Availability, dealer pricing and the alternatives to shortlist
At the October 11, 2026 check, Toro’s product page directed buyers to a local dealer rather than an online manufacturer checkout. We did not verify an exact current Amazon 39926 kit, so this review uses Toro’s dealer locator instead of a generic affiliate search link. Request an itemized quote including the serial-specific kit, assembly, delivery, tax and any extra batteries.
Compare the EGO SNT2807 if you are considering a larger EGO two-stage kit, and the Toro e24 if 24 inches may better fit the route or storage. For a manageable paved job without a need for powered wheels, the Greenworks 60V 22-inch kit is a different cost and ownership proposition. Buy the size and architecture you need, not the most elaborate machine a specification chart can display.
8 frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Toro 39926 and 39926T?
39926 is the battery-included e26 configuration reviewed here. 39926T is the bare tool and does not include a battery or charger. A bare-tool headline price is not a complete-kit comparison unless you already have the approved batteries and charging equipment.
Does the current 39926 kit have two rapid chargers?
The manual linked for serial 418000000 and up lists two model 88605 rapid chargers and two model 88675 7.5Ah packs. Older serial-range documents can specify a different charger. Ask the seller to confirm the actual serial range and included hardware in writing.
Is a third battery included, or are three required?
The reviewed kit contains two batteries, not three. A third compatible pack is an optional extra. Follow the manual’s capacity and installation requirements for the specific serial range rather than assuming every bay must be filled or every small Toro pack is sufficient.
Is the e26 self-propelled and two-stage?
Yes. It has powered-wheel traction and separate auger and impeller stages. Traction assists movement; the stage count describes how snow is handled. Neither term means the operator no longer needs to guide, turn or maintain safe footing.
Can it clear 20 inches of wet snow in one pass?
We have not tested that claim. The 20-inch intake is a physical dimension, not a guarantee at every density or feed rate. Treat the manufacturer’s throwing and car-space figures as conditional, and do not assume they cover refrozen driveway-end piles.
Can I use it on gravel?
The current model manual includes collector-height adjustment for gravel or crushed rock. Have the machine set up according to that document and discuss the actual surface with a dealer. Loose-material hazards, safe discharge direction and operator precautions still apply.
Can my batteries charge in the unheated garage?
Only if the location and pack temperatures comply with the exact battery/charger instructions. The model manual distinguishes the charging/storage range from cold-weather operation. A place suitable for storing the machine is not automatically warm or dry enough to charge its batteries.
Where is the verified buying link, and what warranty is listed?
This review links Toro’s manufacturer page and dealer locator because an exact current Amazon kit was not verified. Toro lists three-year limited tool and battery terms; read the linked model warranty and have the dealer confirm coverage, package contents and delivered costs.
Should you buy it?
The e26 deserves a shortlist when a wider two-stage machine and powered wheels match recurring substantial work. Check physical access and the serial-specific charging kit before signing off on a dealer quote. Its larger intake and optional third bay are buying details—not guarantees of effortless clearing or a third included battery.
