Research-based review · Updated October 11, 2026. We have not tested this product ourselves. Published specifications are identified below; buying recommendations are our assessment of those specifications and the intended job.
Our take: The CRAFTSMAN CMCBL710D1 is a sensible shortlist option for quick patio, driveway and walkway cleanup. For a lawn covered in deep autumn leaves, we would choose a blower with more air volume. The important buying detail is the model number: this is the 200-CFM hard-surface kit.

What the CMCBL710D1 kit includes
CRAFTSMAN’s specification sheet lists a CMCBL710 blower, one CMCB202 2.0Ah V20 battery and a V20 charger. Its maximum ratings are 200 CFM and 90 MPH, and the motor is brushed. CRAFTSMAN states 20V maximum initial battery voltage and 18V nominal voltage.
| Detail | Buying implication |
|---|---|
| CMCBL710D1 kit | Check for both the 2.0Ah battery and charger in the selected offer. |
| 200 CFM / 90 MPH maximum | Air volume and air speed describe different things; neither is a measured yard-cleaning result. |
| Integrated nozzle scraper | Intended to help loosen debris on a surface, not to clear a powered tool’s intake. |
| VERSATRACK hook | Compatible wall storage is sold separately. |

Where we would use it
A short sweep after mowing is a different job from shifting a winter’s worth of compacted leaves. Our assessment is that this model makes the most sense when cleanup is frequent, the debris is light and the area is mainly paved. Its compact format is useful if you want an easy-to-store companion to your mower.
For example, a homeowner clearing clippings from a short path may care more about convenient storage and using an existing battery system than the largest airflow figure. Someone clearing a wooded lawn should make the opposite tradeoff: prioritize sustained output and enough battery capacity to finish the job.
Battery and runtime: avoid buying on a promise
We did not find a model-specific runtime figure in the manufacturer documents linked below. We therefore cannot promise that the supplied battery will finish a particular yard or provide a set number of minutes. The 2.0Ah label describes capacity, not a guaranteed working duration.
Before buying another pack, consider how long your usual cleanup takes and whether you already own compatible V20 equipment. If you are starting a new battery collection solely for heavy leaf removal, compare the complete cost of a more capable kit first. A low tool price can be less attractive once extra batteries are added.
Choose by the job
- Light, routine hard-surface cleanup: keep this Craftsman on your shortlist.
- Larger leaf piles and variable airflow: compare our EGO LB6151 review.
- Collecting leaves as well as blowing them: consider the corded BLACK+DECKER BV3600 blower/vacuum if your working area has a suitable power supply.
The electric leaf-blower guide helps compare those different approaches. These are buying scenarios, not results from a head-to-head test.
Use and ownership checks
The CMCBL710 manual specifies household blowing use and excludes wet conditions. Wear the specified protective equipment, keep people and pets clear, and remove the battery before clearing a blockage or changing attachments. An integrated scraper is no reason to reach into the housing.
For an older or open-box offer, check the condition of the battery, the exact charger, the return policy and the seller’s warranty eligibility. CRAFTSMAN lists a three-year limited tool warranty; read the terms for the offer you select.
Is it worth buying?
Yes, conditionally: if your job is a modest amount of dry debris on hard surfaces and the full kit price suits your budget. We would pass if the main requirement is sustained heavy leaf clearing. Choose based on that workload, rather than a generic “20V MAX” title.
