Choose between the 5000 and 5000H first

The mower must also turn, approach a boundary, cross transitions, and return along a reliable route. Side slopes and edges near water, walls, roads, or drops need particular care.
Measure the hardest section and compare it with the manual’s operating and boundary limits. All-wheel drive can reduce loss of traction, yet wet soil, roots, holes, loose ground, and tight turns can still create interventions.
Capacity and lawn layout
Measure actual grass rather than total property size. The 1.25-acre rating makes the 5000 relevant where one-acre models are too small, but capacity is not the only constraint. Divided zones, gates, weather windows, grass growth, and charging cycles can reduce the time available to finish the schedule.
The manufacturer advertises a 27.6-inch minimum gap capability for the family, but verify the exact requirement and how the mower enters and exits your passage. Measure gates at their narrowest usable point, including posts, hinges, edging, and plants.
Connectivity, service, and upkeep
Mammotion’s published U.S. terms include three years of 4G data for 2026 LUBA 3 devices. Confirm what functions depend on that service, what remains available after the included period, and whether terms have changed before buying. Also check warranty eligibility for the seller and selected bundle.
Budget for blades, cleaning, edge trimming, and occasional map revisions. During the return period, test every zone and record rescues, missed areas, and failed charging returns. The value of a robot mower comes from reliable time savings across weeks, not a single successful demonstration.
