Research-based guide · Updated October 11, 2026. We use manufacturer specifications and care instructions. We have not personally tested the products discussed here.
Our assessment: The EGO LM2102SP-A is worth comparing when you want powered travel and a two-battery kit for routine residential mowing. It is a self-propelled mower. The “-A” package includes two 56V 4.0Ah batteries and a rapid charger; it is different from the LM2102SP package with one 7.5Ah battery.
Consider another option if you already own sufficient EGO battery capacity, want a Select Cut blade system, or need assured coverage of a large or difficult lawn. We have not measured this mower’s runtime, cut quality or handling.

Match the model suffix to the package
| Configuration | Battery package | Who should compare it? |
|---|---|---|
| LM2100SP | Bare tool; no battery or charger | An owner with appropriate existing EGO equipment |
| LM2102SP | One 7.5Ah battery and rapid charger | A buyer comparing a single larger pack |
| LM2102SP-A | Two 4.0Ah batteries and rapid charger | A buyer who values a spare and battery rotation |
EGO lists these configurations on the same mower-family page. Check the selected offer’s model, battery quantities, condition and charger before ordering; the product photograph alone is not enough.
Features that affect everyday use
The mower has a 21-inch deck, variable-speed self-propulsion, six cutting-height settings from 1.5 to 4 inches, and mulching, bagging and side-discharge modes. The handle folds for storage. These are manufacturer specifications, not a comparison test.
Powered wheels can reduce forward pushing, but you still steer, turn and manage the collection bag. Consider your gate width, storage space and ability to maneuver the mower when comparing it with a smaller push model. Headlights do not remove the need for adequate visibility and safe footing.
Runtime: compare the correct batteries
The current EGO family page advertises up to 60 minutes with a 7.5Ah pack. That is not a measured runtime for one of this kit’s 4Ah packs. Allow for battery swaps and charging pauses when planning a longer mowing route.
Plan for battery changes and allow a reserve for heavier grass or powered travel. Compare the runtime and charging guide before paying for additional capacity.
Alternatives worth comparing
The EGO LM2110 bare-tool push mower is a different choice for an equipped owner who does not need powered travel. The LM2156SP and LM2156SP-2 add a different cutting system and larger battery packages. Compare complete kit cost rather than a bare-tool price against this bundle.
Ownership checks
Follow the supplied manual for operation, cleaning, storage and blade service. A weather-resistance rating does not authorize mowing in rain or washing electrical areas. Confirm authorized-retailer status and the current warranty before purchase, especially for a used or older-stock offer.
Frequently asked questions
Is the LM2102SP-A a push mower?
It has self-propelled travel. Do not confuse push-button starting with a mower that lacks powered wheels.
Is it the same package as LM2102SP?
No. EGO lists two 4Ah batteries for LM2102SP-A and one 7.5Ah battery for LM2102SP.
Does it guarantee a full lawn on one charge?
No. Grass conditions, route and battery use determine what you can complete. Treat advertised maximum runtime as conditional.
