Who the i206 is designed for
Measure the grass, rather than using the size of the entire lot. Subtract the house, driveway, patio, beds, pool, and other areas the mower will never enter. A home with 4,000 to 5,000 square feet of connected grass leaves useful room below the i206’s rating. A measured 6,200-square-foot lawn is much closer to the advertised limit and gives the schedule less margin for rain, divided zones, or rapid growth.

Where AWD may help
Segway advertises a 45% maximum grade and uses all-wheel drive with a steerable third wheel. That combination makes the i206 more interesting for roots, uneven transitions, and sloped areas than a small robot built only for level turf.
A maximum slope number does not describe the whole yard. A mower may climb a straight open grade yet face a harder problem when turning near a border, crossing a rut, or approaching a slope beside a wall. Map the steepest section and its exit before assuming the headline rating settles the question.
Navigation and setup
The i206 uses virtual boundaries, so it does not require a buried perimeter wire around the lawn. Segway says antenna-free installation is supported where Network RTK coverage is available. The package information also lists a GNSS antenna and installation kit, giving owners another setup path where appropriate.
Before buying, check Network RTK coverage for your address and identify dense tree cover, narrow passages, tall walls, and disconnected lawn areas. Confirm that the mower can reach every zone and return to its charger. “Wire-free” removes perimeter-wire installation, but it does not remove the need to plan the map and charging location.

Cutting height and weekly upkeep
The 2–3.6-inch range suits many maintained lawns, but it is not the right fit for a four-inch mowing plan. A robot works by trimming frequently, so reduce an overgrown lawn with an appropriate mower before beginning a regular robot schedule.
Expect to replace blades, clean accumulated clippings, trim spots the robot cannot safely reach, and adjust maps when the landscape changes. During the return window, test all zones, borders, passages, and charging routes. Count interventions; time saved is more meaningful than how impressive the mower looks during one open-lawn run.
